Presidents Message for September

First off I want to congratulate all the 2011 PCBRA finals winners and contestants! It really was a great weekend of barrel racing and in general things ran pretty smooth. I have to send a BIG Thank You to all the volunteers who generously donated their time to help throughout the entire weekend. To Jim Greene and Lance Isaak thank you for announcing, there were lots of laughs and never a dull moment. To Amber Atkins, thank you for being the Best Arena Director! You kept things rolling nicely and many commented on how quickly we got through all the runs. To Bonnie Wilson, thank you for recording and assisting our announcers. To Lynn Peck, your efficiency and willingness to do whatever we asked of you was appreciated. To Helga and Neil, thank you for all your hard work at the Lakota and for keeping our ground in great shape. There is tons of behind the scene work that goes into putting on a finals, without the hard working board of directors our finals would not be possible. To you the finals contestants and parents who volunteered working a gate or helping with rakes, thank you. Last but not least thank you to our sponsors! Without our sponsorship it would not be possible to have our beautiful saddles and awards.
As we go right in to our 2011/2012 season I want to mention the importance of hearing from you, the members. If you have comments or concerns on things that went well or changes you would like to see, we want to hear them. The purpose of the PCBRA is to promote the sport of 3D barrel racing by providing events where every horse and rider are given an equal opportunity to compete and be competitive at their own level. Our goals are to increase membership, improve the quality or our events and bring together barrel racers from British Columbia and the Alberta peace country.
Fall is here and like it or not winter is well on it's way.  Many or you are still barrel racing, high school rodeoing, jackpotting, and futurity/derbying. Good Luck to you all and travel safe. To those of you who have turned out your horses for winter, I hope you enjoy a well deserved break and we will see you in the spring.
Take care.
